About Marion Siciliano
Siciliano was a self-taught artist who began painting in 1969. Times art critic William Wilson described it as a "hard-edge abstract style" that bore the influences of German Bauhaus and artists such as Frank Stella and Ellsworth Kelly.
Descended from a prominent Austrian Jewish banking family, Siciliano was born in Frankfurt, Germany. Her family fled Germany prior to WWII, eventually settling in Boston. She spent her war years in Washington, D.C. where she met her husband Rocco Siciliano, a Georgetown law graduate, and moved to Beverly Hills in 1971. In the 1980's she chaired TreePeople, a group focusing on the greening of Los Angeles
