About Paul McCobb
Born in 1917 in Massachusetts, he began his career as a product development engineer in the medium of plastics and open his own design firm in New York City in 1945. In 1950, he launched his first mass produced line of furniture; the collection featured sleek lines and warm finishes, and was a hit. McCobb took inspiration from classic American styles and transformed them into new and modern forms; “we don’t design fads.”
