This sculptural chair by Vladimir Kagan for Directional has a slightly curved back and seat which tilts and swivels on an upholstered round base. 

About Vladimir Kagan 
A German born into a Russian cabinetmaking family, moved to New Jersey, USA during WWII. Kagan approached each piece as an individual expression of an idea, composed and recomposed from the success of previously used design elements. His pieces are “vessels for the human body” and do not lend themselves to mass-production making his designs relatively rare.
