About Wharton Esherick
A Philly born, American artist and craftsman who pioneered the Postwar American Studio Craft Movement. After graduating from Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Arts, he moved to Paoli, PA in order to live a lifestyle more immersed in nature. His pieces combine modern art with hand woodworking that produce angular and prismatic forms influenced by German Expressionism and Cubism.
