About Eero Saarinen and the Womb Chair
A Finnish born American architect, joined Knoll International in the 1940's. The Womb Chair, one of Saarinen's most designs, was designed in the 1946 after Florence Knoll told Saarinen "I am sick of one-dimensional chairs. I want a chair I can sit sideways or any other way I want to sit." Almost 80 years later, the chair continues to compliment any interior with its sculptural and organic appearance.
